We are developing a high frequency (240 GHz), nanosecond time resolution , pulsed Electron Paramagnetic Resonance spectrometer powered by one of the UCSB Free Electron Lasers.
In this machine we use quasi-optical and corrugated waveguide techniques, and generate short pulses by laser-activated switches with high contrast ratio (ratio of the power reflected after activation to that reflected before activation).
The picture shows the nanosecond and sub-nanosecond YAGs lasers we use flashing at 532nm.
